Change management: build the practice, or borrow ours

First page of the Change management: build the practice, or borrow ours overview

We help clients align goals, establish a clear vision, prepare for change, and mitigate the problems that arrive with it. There are two ways to do that, and which one fits depends on whether you want the capability or the outcome.

Teach you how to fish: establish your own practice

We guide the organization through standing up its own change management practice, so it becomes adept at managing change internally. Six stages: goal alignment, so leadership shares an understanding of what the practice is for. Current state assessment, gauging change management maturity and organizational readiness. Future state design, creating the model and a maturity roadmap. Process plan design, customizing the strategy for institutionalizing the practice, its capabilities and competencies. Transition plan design, covering training, communication, coaching and reinforcement. Rollout and governance, so the effort is run with real project management frameworks, assessments and tools.

We fish for you: managed change at the project level

A more hands-off engagement for the client, using Prosci methodology and the ADKAR model. Discover: current state assessment, stakeholder analysis, change team structure and governance, culture and readiness assessment, future state visioning, change impact analysis. Prepare: the change management strategy, a communication strategy and its artifacts, coaching for sponsors and leadership, a training and enablement plan, and the metrics. Manage: implementing the strategy, sponsor activities, communications, training, and gathering feedback to modify as it runs. Reinforce: compliance audits, measurement against KPIs, corrective action, continued communication, and transfer of ownership so it sustains.

ADKAR

Awareness of the need for change. Desire to participate and support it. Knowledge of what is changing and how. Ability to implement the required skills and behaviors. Reinforcement to sustain the change.
